Background
この作品は、2025年4月にピアノで演奏した即興音楽です。
私は、普段は kiss the gambler という名前で曲を作り、歌詞を書き、歌い、録音してリリースし、ライブをしてCDやグッズを販売しながら生活しています。その生き方は、まるでギャンブルのようです。
一度に大きな出費をして、1年、2年とかけて少しずつ回収していく――。
そんな不安定な日々の中で、心を整えながら良い作品を生み出さなければならないこの“ギャンブル生活”は、ときに自分の心を苦しめることがあります。
気持ちが沈み、新しい曲を作るモードに入れず悩んでいたとき、
お世話になっているピアニストの谷口雄さんと、「studio 土の上を歩く」の笹倉慎介さんが、私をピアノ即興音楽の世界へと誘ってくださいました。
テーマを決めず、感覚のままに指を動かしながら演奏してみる――
それは、いつも緊張と不安の中でがんばって明るく振る舞う kiss the gambler の心を、そっと安心させる方法となりました。
そしてそれこそが、私がずっと探し求めていた“真のリラックス”の状態になる方法だったのです。
初めての即興作品で、ミスタッチもあり完璧な演奏ではありませんが、
日記のようにそのときの心情を音に残すことができ、今振り返るととても面白い体験だったと感じます。
この曲には後から「Take a nap」というタイトルをつけました。
ジャケットは、私の大好きな漫画家、香山哲さんに描いていただきました。
知らない海辺を歩くような気持ちで、聴いてみてください。

This piece is an improvised piano performance recorded in April 2025.
Usually, under the name kiss the gambler, I write songs, lyrics, and sing, record, release, perform live, and make a living by selling CDs and goods.
That lifestyle is like a gamble — spending a large amount of money at once, then slowly recovering it over a year or two.
While living this unstable life, I have to keep my mind in balance and continue creating good music.
Sometimes, that “gambling life” weighs heavily on my heart.
When I was feeling down and couldn’t get into the creative mode to write new songs,
pianist Yu Taniguchi and Shinsuke Sasakura from Studio Tsuchi no Ue wo Aruku gently guided me into the world of piano improvisation.
Playing without a set theme — simply letting my fingers move as they wished —
became a way to calm kiss the gambler, who is always trying to stay bright amid tension and anxiety.
It turned out to be the very method of “true relaxation” I had been searching for all along.
It’s my first improvised work, with some mistakes and imperfections,
but like a diary, it captures my feelings at that moment, and looking back now, I find it deeply fascinating.
Later, I gave this piece the title “Take a nap”.
The cover artwork was illustrated by one of my favorite manga artists, Tetsu Kayama.
